A pulpit response to Charlottesville …

If I’d had more time between Sunday morning and the horror of Saturday in Charlottesville, I would have said some hints differently.  Here is my effort, raw and unedited.  You can see my pain on my face.  I’m wearing my aching heart on my face.

About Pastor Kris

Hello.  I'm Rev. Kristine Eggert, retired after serving as Senior Pastor of Disciples Christian Church in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. I'm the Co-Founder and Executive Director of God Before Guns, a multi faith coalition of individuals and faith communities working to end gun violence.  In retirement, I believe God is calling me to work as a progressive Christian activist in social justice causes.

  1. “We must not stand idly by.” Thank you Kris. I had to wait a few days to watch this as I was sure the pain on your face would bring me quickly to tears. But what actually happened was your words and pain fed heart and have energized me to pull out of my place of pain and fear and do all the good I can, when and wherever I can. Peace.

Thank you, Kris. This is powerful. What happened in Charlottesville is unspeakable yet you put words to it.
